Liberty Tile Studio commissioned the team at Cross Engineering to create a physical version of its logo using real tiles for its upgraded showroom.
The brief demanded absolute accuracy, clean detailing, and a premium finish that would reflect the quality LTS delivers to customers every day.
As an established tiling brand, LTS supplies an extensive range of tiled products for residential and commercial spaces. Their collections include ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, decorative finishes, and large-format slabs. The logo needed to showcase this breadth while presenting a refined, professional appearance suitable for display in a showroom environment where detail drives first impressions.
To achieve this, the Cross Engineering team selected their proven Flow waterjet cutting system.
Waterjet technology uses an ultra-high-pressure stream of water mixed with a garnet abrasive to cut through dense materials without generating heat. This eliminates the risk of cracking, burning, or material distortion. It delivers crisp edges, consistent accuracy, and exceptional surface quality, which is essential when working with tile and stone.
Engineers programmed the logo geometry directly into the cutter, allowing it to follow complex curves and tight internal corners with absolute control.
Two contrasting tile materials were carefully chosen to create depth and visual impact. Each section was cut with tight tolerances so the lettering inlaid seamlessly into the base tile. The finished piece shows clean line definition, smooth transitions, and a precise fit that requires minimal finishing.
The result is a striking, tactile logo that elevates the Liberty Tile Studio brand in a physical form.
Lynsey Marnell, owner of Liberty Tile Studio, said, “We are absolutely delighted with the finished logo. The level of detail and accuracy is outstanding, and it perfectly reflects the quality and style we aim to deliver to our customers. The Cross Engineering team were fantastic to work with from start to finish. They understood exactly what we wanted and brought the concept to life with care, precision, and professionalism.”
Abigail Jeffreys of Cross Engineering added, “It has been a pleasure working with Liberty Tile Studio on this project. Supporting another local, family-run business and using our engineering skills to help bring their brand to life is exactly what we enjoy most. Projects like this highlight how versatile waterjet cutting can be and how collaboration creates strong results for everyone involved.”
Alongside the established platform used in this project, Cross Engineering also operates a high-performance Flow Mach 500 waterjet system. This advanced machine delivers faster cutting speeds, enhanced automation, and the ability to run dual cutting heads for increased output.
It supports larger bed sizes for oversized components and complex nesting layouts, making it ideal for higher volume production and demanding industrial workloads.
The combined capabilities of both machines support clients across construction, architectural fabrication, engineering, automotive, aerospace, marine, signage, and specialist manufacturing. They benefit from rapid prototyping, scalable production, consistent quality, and reliable turnaround times.
This capability opens the door to bespoke signage, architectural features, decorative panels, branding installations, and custom interiors. You gain design freedom across a wide range of materials, including stone, ceramics, metals, composites, plastics, and glass. Complex shapes, fine detailing, and repeatable accuracy become achievable without compromise.
Cross Engineering, which is celebrating 60 years in business, continues to demonstrate that six decades of experience, combined with continued investment in precision technology, creates results that build strong partnerships and lasting impact.
